Jenna Coombs works primarily within installation, sound and moving image to investigate how ‘immersive experience’ takes place from project to project. ‘Immersive’ as an art form is what she is constantly challenging and trying to redefine as it feels and looks like different experience from person to person. She is interested in how the external and physical environments we are within have an impact on our individual ability to internally process, function and communicate. She aims to transport the audience participant from their external environment and into the orbit of the piece by encouraging those to interact by touching, listening, watching and inhabiting the space in which the work exists within. She becomes increasing invested in neuroaesthetics and aims to develop her practice to become more bodily immersive for healing and participation experiences.
