During 2021 COVID lockdown, Jenna was looking into how space and environment effected one’s availability to be vulnerable and feel safe. Being confined to the walls of our homes, she looked at the rooms in which many were situated within and the bathroom became an interesting space to dissect. The place in the house, you could argue, where one is at their most vulnerable. Jenna wanted to open the discussion about vulnerability and how attending therapy can help with this ability to open-up. She interviewed a handful of male acquaintances and - when she couldn’t visit their homes herself (due to COVID restrictions) she asked them to film themselves in their bathrooms, speaking on their experience with therapy and vulnerability. She built her own bathroom set in the back garden to feature in the film as a way of reimagining the private enclosed space of a bathroom juxtaposed in an open aired exposed environment.
